Cords are defined here as having a cable diameter of Φ2.2 or less for Φ1.0 fiber per core, for either single or double cores.

Some example products are shown below. Many other products are also available.
Polyethylene coverings
This is the most general jacketing material for plastic optical fiber. It has a low price, and does not emit toxic substances such as dioxins when incinerated for disposal.
Polyvinylchloride
This jacket has superior flame resistant. All products shown below have passed VW-1 for UL regulations. Also, toxic substances are not used in the plastic optical fiber, so that performance is stable over a long period of time.
Other Jacketing Material
Chlorinated polyethylene also has superior flame resistant characteristics.
Nylon are resistant to chemicals, and are protected against toxic oils.
