FAQ

Connections with Other Networks
The 1394 network is a multimedia system network. But there are situations when usage of other control system networks and Ethernet networks used in SOHO will be necessary. Bluetooth and cellular phones mentioned in the previous user interface will most likely be connected also. With these existing in a chaotic manner, it can't be easy to use.
1394 has enough bandwidth to correspond to a number of protocols, so it is possible to have different protocol servers connected as a part of the 1394 connection devices. (The picture shows a "connection example with ECHONET", the 1Mbps network which uses a power line)
Networks expected to connect with the 1394

Ethernet (cable)
SOHO, etc.
10-100Mbps

Connections with Infrastructures
The home server is connected to the FTTH (Fiber to the Home), a wide band area public circuit network called the Last 1 mile.
The combination of this wide band area infrastructure and the high speed 1394 home network will allow application and content download without stress.
